Verbal Abuse outside of College?

I'm almost graduating in 2 weeks but one of my "friend with benefits" guy (who was only that for 1 night and NOT all the way) got jealous of me talking to a friend in that class that I've known for 9 months already. I just talked to this other guy for a month but known him longer but we were in relationships. Anyways, I MADE it CLEAR we were only friends, I didn't trust him to be more, and that's that. Well ever since he criticized me about my appearance, friends, personality last week, he still texts me if I still want him, if there's a chance, to talk to him, to just anything with him! I refuse to respond hoping he will get the hint. I thought he did when he said he was onto another girl and I was like Yes! Free! Why he told me that about his new fling is probably to make me care but I don't. Anyways, out of nowhere at 11pm, he texts me a simple "I hate you" on both my cell numbers. I am kinda freaked because he does know where I live, he has had issues where he's already told me he wanted to kill himself, and he has real bad problems at home. I know I made a mistake wanting some lusting for that night. Please trust I'm not a whore lol. Well I've tried reaching out before to my professor and he tried to help and he took it up with his boss, but they said they couldn't meddle because it was personal. Even though I see this guy in class every day.. I fear for myself. He's not stable as he seems in public. Is there anything anyone can do? He's just a jealous prick but if you've seen the news, those can be deadly.
