Am I allergic to mosquito bites?

Mosquitoes have always been really attracted to me for some reason. Ever since I was a little kid summer has been a nightmare for me. However, as I've gotten older (I'm a teenager now) I've started reacting badly to bites. Last summer it was so bad, I woke up crying and the bites on my legs were so bad that I was limping. All of my bites were septic and they were so big, if I wore tight fighting clothes, you could see the outline of the bites through my clothes. I had to go to my doctor but to be honest, he wasn't particularly helpful. With summer approaching again, I'm starting to get nervous. I don't know much about medical issues, but to those of you who do, does this sound like an allergy to you? Because it does to me! Thanks for any answers.
